Golden Island Travels is a private chauffeur and tour operator based in Sri Lanka, operating the website goldenislandtravels.com. These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings and services provided by Golden Island Travels to customers. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms.
A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a written confirmation from Golden Island Travels and payment of the required deposit or full amount. Verbal agreements or WhatsApp conversations alone do not constitute a confirmed booking. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.
A deposit of 30% of the total booking value is required to confirm a reservation. The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days before the departure date. For bookings made within 7 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking. Payments may be made via PayHere (credit/debit card), bank transfer, or other methods agreed upon in writing. All prices are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated.
Golden Island Travels provides private chauffeur services, customised tour packages, airport transfers, hotel bookings, safari reservations, and activity arrangements across Sri Lanka. All vehicles are maintained to a high standard and driven by licensed, English-speaking drivers. The specific services included in each booking are as agreed in the written confirmation.
Customers are responsible for: providing accurate travel information (arrival times, flight numbers, hotel addresses); ensuring all members of the travel party hold valid passports and any required visas for Sri Lanka; arriving at agreed pick-up points on time; and behaving respectfully towards our drivers, guides, and third-party service providers. Golden Island Travels is not liable for delays or costs arising from inaccurate information provided by the customer.
Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Return & Refund Policy, available at goldenislandtravels.com/return-policy. By making a booking, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of that policy.
Golden Island Travels acts as a service provider and, where applicable, as an agent for third-party services (hotels, safari parks, activity operators). We are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or inconvenience arising from: acts of third-party service providers; force majeure events (natural disasters, political unrest, strikes, pandemics); the customer's own actions or negligence; or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability to any customer shall not exceed the total amount paid for the booking in question.
We strongly recommend that all customers purchase comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel, covering cancellation, medical expenses, personal liability, and loss of belongings. Golden Island Travels does not provide travel insurance and is not responsible for any costs that would have been covered by adequate travel insurance.
Golden Island Travels reserves the right to modify itineraries due to road conditions, weather, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control. Where changes are necessary, we will endeavour to provide an equivalent alternative. No refund is due for minor itinerary adjustments made for safety or operational reasons.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
